Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge, Tanzania

The lodge is perched on the rim of the phenomenal Ngorongoro Crater with rooms laid out in long lines along the jagged rim. It is located near some of the earliest dwellings of man in Olduvai Gorge. Wreathed in morning mist, the lodge is cloaked in indigenous creepers, designed and decorated with the inspirational expressions of how the early man lived, thus giving it a blend of world class luxury, ancient spendour and ecological balance. The rooms are decorated with hand-painted cave-like illustrations and adorned with African artifacts and frescos. Accommodation rooms have private terraces with sliding glass panels allowing scenic views over the grasslands, forests, lakes and rivers that make up the crater floor. Activities include game drives through the crater, bush walks and entertainment from cultural groups.
